Jon Fishman is the drummer for famed rock and roll band, Phish. Fishman’s intricate drumming and masterful use of polyrhythms has him situated as a unique and often underrated drummer that holds a special place in music history.
Born in Philadelphia PA in 1965, Jon Fishman went on to study music at University of Vermont and Goddard College where he formed the band Phish with his college friends and musical cohorts.
Jon Fishman published “A Self-Teaching Guide To Drumming Written In Retrospect” while in college. His band Phish, has become one of the most influential and accomplished bands in rock and roll history and his influence as a drummer is felt through a whole scene of musicians.
