Roland TD-30KS V-Pro Series Electronic Drums Kit Review

9.1

The first time I played this drumset, I was at a local music store being the kid that annoyed all the salesmen and kept the parents waiting.  I was going drumset to drumset playing clumsily and loud, feeling bold and confident all the while having no idea what I was really doing or how bad I may have sounded.  Then I found the Roland TD-30KS VPro Series Electronic Drum Kit. It was like heaven on earth. My amateur playing all the sudden felt fluid with perfect tone. I made my parents wait two hours for me while I scrolled through all the tones on the drum trigger and played my heart out.  This is the affect a great electronic drumset should have; it should make you want to practice and play for hours!

I love Roland Electronic Drumsets and always have.  It bodes well for the company that invented the mesh head electronic drumkit that they are still the leaders in this space.  In my opinion, all other electronic drumsets are trying to get to the point that the Roland TD-30KS drumset has consistently achieved.  While the price can be daunting for some, which can make it unrealistic the typical worries about the drums sounding and feeling good, or being durable are not in question with this drumset.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a good drumset for beginners?

This is an incredible drumset and if you get it for a beginner, it will accelerate the practice enthusiasm and be easy to get into.  If you are buying it for yourself or your child you will we find the whole family wanting to get some time in on this amazing machine.  However, for the price, there are more affordable electric drumsets that might be worth a look, especially if you are just trying to figure out if you are even gonna like playing on electronic drumsets.  I will warn you though that the cheap electronic drumsets don’t feel nearly as good as this one.

Does this drumset need to be assembled?

This electronic drumset needs to basic assembly.  Above we have included a link to a video that helps with setup.

I’ve wanted this electronic drumset ever since the first time I played it and I’m finally gonna bite the bullet and purchase it.  I am at a point in my playing and studio work where this will be an invaluable tool for me. In the age of digital music recording and home recording studios, the ability to digitally record drums with the feel of an acoustic drumset is a huge advantage in the time it takes to create perfect sounding tracks.  I even see value in taking a few pads on the road with the trigger to compliment my acoustic drumset. I am very excited about this set of electronic drums!
