You cannot discount any trombone in the search for the best trombones without proper review. This plastic trombone, and likely the most affordable trombone option, is a light weight, well-built plastic trombone that is a great option if you’re looking for something that’s both less expensive and also unique and fun. They come in several different colors and for whatever reason, some colors are cheaper than others.

They come with everything you need to get started; the horn itself, a light gig bag case with shoulder strap and two differently sized plastic mouthpieces so you can start playing right away. If you want to get a real brass mouthpiece to use with it, you’re in luck because any regular small shank mouthpiece can work with the Bone.

Compared to a professional grade horn, the sound doesn’t resonate as loudly as brass, the slide action is a little unique but not at all bad and there are some intonation issues in the very low range of the horn, but these are minor discrepancies compared to it’s excellent overall performance across the majority of the range of the horn.
