Review by Bob Lanzetti / Guitarist, Snarky Puppy
One of the most significant pedals on my board at the moment is J. Rockett Audio Systems Overdrive Pedal, Archer and may be considered for the best guitar pedals. Every button ticks that pedal. It’s very compact, perhaps even slightly smaller than a Tubescreamer, it’s built like a tank, it’s very robust and it sounds great. It’s kind of a 2-in-1 lever, which serves as a clean boost if you turn the gain all the way down and overdrive if you turn the gain up.
Ikon Overdrive Features:
- Clean boost
- Output control
- Gain control
- Treble control
- Can be powered by a 9V battery;
- Battery is NOT included
- Buffered switching
I prefer keeping the pedal engaged all the time and adjusting the gain level with my foot using the Wingman Choice Knob system. Essentially the Wingman is a large knob that replaces the traditional knob that allows you to change settings with your foot. The Wingman can work on most pedals that I’ve tried to use on. That is an integral part of my setup for a variety of my results.
