Drake will make festival history this summer, headlining all three nights of London’s Wireless Festival with different setlists each evening, as announced on Instagram. The unprecedented booking for the festival’s 20th anniversary marks the Canadian rapper’s first UK performance in six years.
The July 11-13 engagement at Finsbury Park comes amid Drake’s highly publicized feud with Kendrick Lamar, following Lamar’s controversial Super Bowl performance of “Not Like Us” last weekend. The timing has sparked widespread social media debate about Drake’s motivations for the extensive booking.
Each night features distinct supporting acts. Opening night pairs Drake with PartyNextDoor, fresh off their “Some Sexy Songs 4 U” collaboration, plus Summer Walker. Multiple unannounced UK artists will join Saturday’s performance, while Sunday closes with appearances by Burna Boy and Vybz Kartel.
“His Finsbury Park residency marks a groundbreaking moment never before seen at Wireless,” a festival spokesperson notes. “Holding the title for the audience’s most requested artist since the festival’s inception, his presence will be a milestone.”
The deal, reportedly worth millions, represents a significant investment in Drake’s drawing power. Presale tickets become available to Three mobile customers on February 17, with general sales beginning February 19. Presale signup closes on Feb 18th.
