Folk-rock legend Paul Simon will emerge from retirement for “A Quiet Celebration” tour, marking his first North American trek since 2018. The intimate theater run launches April 4, 2025, in New Orleans and concludes August 3 in Seattle.
The 82-year-old singer-songwriter, who stepped away from touring citing hearing loss and the emotional toll of travel, credits experimental treatments for enabling his return. “The possibility of performing again seemed remote,” Simon notes. “But sometimes life surprises you.”
Accompanied by a 10-piece band including his wife Edie Brickell, Simon will perform at prestigious venues like New York’s Beacon Theatre and Los Angeles’ Disney Hall. The setlist promises material from his 2023 album “Seven Psalms” alongside classics from his six-decade career.
“We’ve chosen these theaters specifically for their acoustics and intimacy,” explains tour director Phil Ramone Jr. “Paul wants to create an environment where the subtleties of the music can truly be appreciated.”
The tour marks Simon’s first extensive outing since his “Homeward Bound” farewell tour in 2018, which concluded with an emotional hometown show in Queens, New York.
Tickets go on sale February 21 at 10 a.m. local time, with various presales beginning February 20.
