The Martin LXM is a better option for the traveling guitarist that doesn’t want to sacrifice town for say the convenient design of the Martin Steel String Backpacker.

The Spruce and Mahogany solid wood structure bring a warm tone that is bluesy if not rocking and much bigger than the size would suggest.

This is a great option for a traveling professional and it’d even say it’s a great option for beginners and young musicians. The smaller size and strong design make it an affordable Martin option that is easier to play and sounds great. If you’re a professional and want a more pro-focused guitar, the one we feature in our Martin D15M review can be another good option.
