When it comes to manufacturing great beginner electric guitars not many companies are able to get things right. This is because with the many in the market you have to compromise on one feature or the other.
The Epiphone Les Paul 100 might be the only beginner electric guitar you will ever need. The guitar is solid; made with a mahogany body, maple top and mahogany neck. You can therefore be sure resonance is high and sound reproduction and passage to the coils is effective.
The 700T and 650R (neck and bridge) humbuckers ensure that high quality and complete sound is collected. The neck is bolt-on with a rosewood fingerboard that makes the guitar very easy to play. The design is the classic Les Paul that you are used to.
Nobody can tell that you are rocking a beginner guitar when you are playing your Epiphone Les Paul 100. It is good looking and the finish is top notch. The craftsmanship is as you would expect of a Les Paul and the sound produced is at par with some higher end guitars in the market. The tone could be better though, which matters for all guitars from electric to acoustic. An acoustic guitar with warm and bright tones is the one we discuss in our Yamaha FG800 Acoustic Guitar review.
The Epiphone Les Paul 100 is the perfect electric guitar for beginners.
For a beginner guitar, this is a great choice! It plays nicely and has a great look. For the best sound and feel take it to a local guitar shop and have it set up by a Pro. It will make a big difference. Also, any negative reviews that are comparing the Les Paul 100 to a true Gibson Les Paul (which can cost thousands of dollars), don’t pay any attention to that. It would be the equivalent of someone comparing a Honda Fit to a Porsche 911.
