It seems like it was just yesterday when we first heard about Billie Eilish as an up and coming young performer and vocalist. Now, a world without Billie Eilish is hard to fathom. Eilish’s creative start with the intentionally lower case title to her hit single “everything i wanted” and shows off the songwriting abilities of Billie and her brother Finneas O’Connell.
The collaboration of this sibling duo is laced with lyrical depth and melodic approach that is mesmerizing and portrays the emotion of the lyrics beautifully. The minimal production and electro-pop vibe walk a fine line between being capable of moving bodies in a dance club in a lustful cadence to creating a vibe for an afternoon joint on a rainy day. The latter might be more fitting for this track.
The November 2019 release has earned Eilish and company Grammy Nominations for Record of the Year, Song of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance as well has triple platinum status in Australia and double platinum status in the US and Canada.
The accompanying music video is equally as emotive and doubles down on the special sibling relationship between Eilish and O’Connell.
