Indie rock stalwarts Vampire Weekend revealed plans for an extensive spring tour supporting their latest album “Only God Was Above Us,” kicking off May 10 at Just Like Heaven festival in Pasadena. The trek includes a mix of headline dates and festival appearances through September.
The band’s first major outing since their surprise Coachella appearance features two-night stands in Philadelphia and multiple festival slots including Boston Calling and Bonnaroo. Brooklyn post-punkers Geese will support most headline dates, while Billy Joel tribute act Turnstiles joins for the Florida shows.
“We’re taking a different approach this time,” says frontman Ezra Koenig. “The venues are more intimate, which lets us experiment with the new material in ways that weren’t possible in arenas.” The tour marks Vampire Weekend’s first extensive run since releasing “Only God Was Above Us” in 2024.
Following the North American leg, the band heads to Europe for August festival appearances including Pukkelpop and Rock en Seine before returning stateside for September festival dates. Their recent boxoffice reports show impressive numbers, with 687,936 tickets sold grossing $34 million across 168 shows.
Multiple presale options begin February 25 through February 27, with general public tickets available February 28 at 10am local time. Prices range from $118 to $585 depending on venue and package level.
