Chris Bullock drops a masterpiece with his debut solo album, “Boomtown.”Each note of this record is as thought out and meticulous as it can possibly be and yet somehow, there is a groove throughout the album that defies the intellectual approach to the composing.

With nods to legends like Ahmad Jamal and Jay Dilla, the swagger of this album is undeniable. If you’re looking for a vibe, this is it.
