One nor’easter. One weekend. Five major stages dark from Maryland to Massachusetts. The late-September storm that rolled up the East Coast didn’t just bring rain and coastal flooding — it effectively hit mute on what should have been one of the biggest live-music weekends of the fall. AC/DC’s MetLife Stadium show is postponed to Oct. 2, 2026. Previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date. That’s the most important fact if you’re holding a ticket stub and a lot of anxiety right now.
One Storm, Five Stages Dark
Heavy wind warnings and flooding forced organizers across the region to pull the plug on multiple major events.
The full damage report runs long:
- Oceans Calling — Ocean City, MD — Dave Matthews Band, Mumford & Sons, Twenty One Pilots, Gwen Stefani; canceled after tides, flooding, and high winds prevented organizers from safely continuing site construction
- CBGB Festival — New York — Morrissey, Patti Smith, Interpol, Sex Pistols with Frank Carter; canceled
- Global Citizen Festival — Central Park — Ms. Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean marking the Fugees’ The Score 30th anniversary, Lenny Kravitz, John Legend; canceled
- All Things Go NYC — Forest Hills Stadium — canceled; the Washington, D.C. edition remained scheduled at time of reporting
- Ed Sheeran — Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA — two shows canceled following severe weather warnings across New England
Across AC/DC, Global Citizen, All Things Go, Oceans Calling, and Ed Sheeran’s Gillette dates, organizers and officials explicitly cited fan and artist safety as the deciding factor.
This wasn’t a localized thunderstorm you can wait out at the merch table. A nor’easter covers geography the way a Beyoncé tour covers continents — thoroughly, and without asking permission. Severe wind warnings forced stadium postponements. Flooding and high winds prevented Oceans Calling from safely completing its festival build before the weekend even began.
What Ticket Holders Need to Know
Your next step depends entirely on which show you had tickets for — and the answers vary.
AC/DC ticket holders are covered for Oct. 2; expect an email with additional details from the venue. For Oceans Calling, tickets purchased directly through Front Gate Tickets will be automatically and fully refunded. For CBGB Festival, Global Citizen, and All Things Go NYC, refund terms were not uniformly confirmed at time of reporting — check directly with your point of purchase.
That Oct. 2 date now carries extra weight. According to reporting by Ultimate Classic Rock, the rescheduled MetLife performance is expected to close out AC/DC’s entire 2026 North American tour. For everyone who held on through the postponement, that night in East Rutherford just got a little more electric.
