Mariah Carey, the iconic pop diva, has unveiled plans for her highly anticipated “Celebration of Mimi” Anniversary Tour, commemorating 20 years since the release of her groundbreaking album “The Emancipation of Mimi.” The global tour will span multiple Asian countries, offering fans a chance to experience Carey’s legendary vocals and hit songs live.
The international leg of the tour is set to begin with two shows in Shanghai, China, on May 16 and 17, 2025. Following a summer break, Carey will return to the stage in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 11. Filipino fans can mark their calendars for October 14, when the songstress will perform at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila. The tour will conclude with a series of Japanese concerts, including a show in Kobe on October 28 and two final performances in Yokohama on November 1 and 2.
“We’re bringing The Celebration of Mimi to a global audience!” Carey announced on social media. “I can’t wait to see you all during this special anniversary year of the Mimi album.”
“The Emancipation of Mimi,” released in 2005, remains one of Carey’s most successful albums, featuring chart-topping singles like “We Belong Together” and “Shake It Off.” The album not only dominated U.S. sales in 2005 but has also sold over 10 million copies worldwide. Its critical acclaim earned Carey three Grammy Awards, including Best Contemporary R&B Album.
This international tour follows Carey’s recent Las Vegas residency, where she performed 24 shows at Dolby Live in Park MGM from April 2024 to February 2025. The upcoming “Celebration of Mimi” tour promises to be a nostalgic journey through one of pop music’s most influential albums.
