Spotify announced plans to launch “Music Pro,” a new premium subscription tier offering exclusive perks for an additional $5.99 monthly fee. The service, targeting dedicated music fans, will introduce AI-powered remixing tools and privileged access to concert tickets.
The new tier, launching later in 2025, represents Spotify’s strategic shift toward serving “superfans” – the estimated 20% of users who drive significant spending on merchandise and live events. Beyond enhanced audio quality, Music Pro subscribers will gain early access to concert presales and premium seating options.
A standout feature includes AI-powered remix tools allowing users to blend tracks from different artists. This creative suite aims to differentiate Music Pro from competitors’ high-fidelity offerings, which typically focus solely on audio quality.
The combined cost of Premium plus Music Pro will reach approximately $18 monthly in the US, with adjusted pricing planned for other markets. Spotify has already secured rights from Universal and Warner Music, with Sony negotiations ongoing.
