Takamine EF341SC Review

Acoustic-Electric Guitar Features:

  • Maple Back & Sides
  • Solid Cedar Top
  • Mahogany Neck
  • Rosewood Fingerboard
  • CT4B II Electronics
  • Black Gloss Finish

The tone is warm and impressive and can stand toe to toe with almost any of the best acoustic guitars out there, including some Martin acoustics that I’ve played, and while its not cheap its certainly one of the best acoustic guitars under $1500.  The ability to capture the tone when you plug it in is equally impressive with its above average electronics and handy 3 band EQ and built in chromatic tuner.  The palathetic pickup is beyond accurate and allows for professional musicians to use this guitar live and in the studio and get exactly what you would want out of a great acoustic guitar. If this guitar’s way out of your budget, there are still guitar models on the market that are much cheaper but still share some quality features you see on Takamine guitars, like the model we discuss in our Jasmine S34C review.

10 Expert Score

Takamine pro series guitars are all pretty impressive, but there is something I particularly think stands out with the Takamine EF341SC.  This guitar has a really big sounds that can really rock for an acoustic guitar.

PROS
  • The tones translate from acoustic to electric in almost a perfect way, if there can be one
  • The cost is great considering this can go on tour or in the studio with any professional musician
CONS
  • I would like to see this guitar in more finishes but that's not really a con
