Fender CD-140SCE Review

Fender CD-140SCE 12-String Acoustic Guitar - Natural
9.1

Bottom Line – This is one of the nicer Fender acoustic guitars for under $500. It’s nice to see the mahogany touches, which you can also find on the best acoustic guitar under 500. Definitely a better choice than some of the cheaper beginner guitars that are hard to play.

Fender CD-140SCE Acoustic-Electric Guitar

For an acoustic guitar under $400, this is a quality option and worthy of consideration.  The Fishman Classic 4T preamp is nice and great for the price with a 3 band EQ that succeeds in creating consistency between the acoustic and amplified tones.

The dreadnought body is well built with spruce and mahogany with a rosewood back and sides that create a roust tone.  There have been some shortcuts in the making of this guitar which is why it’s not a $1000 guitar. If you want that rosewood on a fingerboard, consider giving our Fender FA 115 review a read too.

9.1 Expert Score

Whether you are gearing up to take your first guitar lesson and are looking for an easytoplay neck or you are looking through acoustic travel guitars with good sound quality and a great price tag, this solid spruce, fender classic will certainly get the job done well. If you’re traveling with kids who play guitar as well, the Taylor Swift signature guitar is a great travel-sized pick for youngsters, especially if they look up to Taylor Swift. But it’s not the cheapest one on the market today, so if you want a more affordable alternative, the guitar in our Martin LX1 review can save you some money.
