Taylor Academy 12e Review

Acoustic Guitar Features:

  • Grand Concert Body Style with Armrest
  • 6-string Acoustic-electric Guitar
  • Talor ES-B Electronics – Natural

I love Taylor guitars, plain and simple.  They always fit the quality the brand assumes.

Shockingly, this is listed as an entry level guitar.  I would agree with it being an entry level Taylor guitar as the brand typically sticks with high end models and rarely can you find such an affordable Taylor guitar that embodies all that is great about Taylor.

While this is no $100 beater guitar, I would encourage even beginner guitarist to consider spending a little more money and getting this for their first guitar.  You will have a guitar that holds it’s value as you grow into the instrument. If you like this concert body style and are an intermediate instead of a beginner, the model in this Yamaha FS820 review might be a better fit for you.

More than anything, the Taylor Academy 12e is a nice guitar that sounds and looks great and ease a joy to play.

PROS
  • This beautiful guitar is offered in steel string and nylon string configurations
  • Embodies the rich warm sound that is signature to Taylor guitars
CONS
  • While it's much better than most any other entry level guitar, there is still a nice leap in quality when you get into the high end Taylors
