We’ve certainly seen other Gretsch series when searching for the best guitars, so lets take a look at this specific acoustic-electric guitar.

Gretsch G5022CE Rancher Review

Acoustic-Electric Guitar Features:

  • 6-string Acoustic-electric Guitar with Jumbo Body
  • Fishman Electronics – Savannah Sunset
  • Flame Maple Back and Sides

Fans of honkey tonk 1950’s style guitars will love the Gretsch G5022CE Rancher Acoustic Electric Guitar.

The solid spruce and maple jumbo body guitar has a triangular sound hole the lends to the sound of the throwback guitar.  The tone is old school yet powerful and full which makes it a solid performance guitar. This is a stunning guitar with great materials. If you’re a big fan of the rosewood fretboard and are a beginner, you can find that on entry-level models like the guitar in our Jasmine S35 review.

The mohagany neck and rosewood fretboard are nice work get your fingers on and you can enjoy it at a fraction of the cost of the vintage 6022 Rancher that this design is derived from. If you want something cheaper that you can also take on the go easily, consider the model in our Martin Travel Guitar review.

9.1 Expert Score

The electronics are also solid on this guitar which makes it great for plugging in which some similar priced guitars struggle with.

PROS
  • Gretsch designed a beautiful guitar and nails the 1950's throwback style they are going for
CONS
  • It's a big guitar that isn't necessarily worth lugging around to live concerts unless you really want that honkey tonk style
